PM Carney's gov't is - well in hot water- sorry for the pun, for not re-introducing clean water legislation. So saying he is going to talk about water has cheif's interested. Chiefs planned to hold a press conference tomorrow to call him out #cdnpoli #indigenous

PM Carney is repeating his stump speech: reassuring consultation, engagement. Noted the #Indigenous Advisory council, plus meeting climate goals. Not much new.Chiefs applauded when he said consent was a requirement. Someone in the back, not sure who, is clapping-trying to restart applause. #cdnpoli

Trudeau often attended. Even when. The chief's reamed on him. Carney is attended and so are many ministers, which was the protocol under the Trudeau gov't. Stephen Harper did not attend.

Before breaking for lunch, the emcees said they've been approached by a number of Chiefs wanting to discuss protocols around PM Carney's appearance. They were advised to caucus-- and told protocols would be adjusted as they wished. I have no idea what is going on. #cndpoli #indigenoous #AFN Assembly

At the AFN assembly. Right now they are working through resolutions. The National Chief's speech laid into the gov't on: underfunding education, failing to re-introduce water legislation, S-2 (on "Indian status" and C-5. Carney and a number of ministers will be appearing. #cdnpoli #indigenous
