Was fun to participate in that today. Love the new record. Looking forward to the physical LP coming out next month. In the meantime there is digital, fortunately :)

So often I’ve wished there was something like this at events here in Vancouver. I know we have something every now and again, but it seems more rare than it should be.

Any idea @kylalee.ca if these people have the legal authority to ticket like this? I kinda assume there is some weird thing one accepts by parking on their property, but I don’t know….

I’ve covered events in this city for 20 years. They have ruined one of the best parts of the holiday season in Vancouver.

- Removed an accessible, affordable holiday attraction (site entry always by donation)
- Removed funds from 2 local charities that relied on this year-end boost
- Funding JK

I support a democratically elected park board. Part of democracy is ensuring that the government’s decisions match the city’s values.

Vancouver is a city for all its people. Trans people included. I am calling on the Park Board to rethink this event and make this right.

The cost of just one of the new highway overpasses exceeds everything ever spent on bike lanes in Victoria.

100% agree. Vancouver seems to be completely unable to address its car addiction. Hopefully a different council will see this differently one day.

Ken Sim’s Love of Bitcoin Makes Critics Nervous | The Tyee β€˜The mayor is talking about economics and doesn't seem to understand what he's talking about,’ says a UBC professor.

I took a look at some of the YouTube interviews Vancouver’s mayor has been doing on Bitcoin, and what he says is pretty wild.

When I asked an economist about these theories he said, β€œThis is not economics, this is β€” I don’t know what to call it.”

Disappointing. They could at least deprioritize X and only use it along with other services only for essential/emergency communications and use services like Bluesky for day-to-day communication. I wouldn’t have any problem with that even if I would wish they just dump it all together.

Today the CBC is reporting that FIFA requires "no public food sales" in a 2km exclusionary zone from BC Place stadium

That's most of the city. They're not sure if restaurants are "public food sales". 😲

Read it as an e-book not long ago and really enjoyed it. The older I get the more I realize that the reality of moments in time fade and are so heavly impacted by the culture of the moment - and of the future. This book helped to highlight that. Thanks for uncovering so many interesting storys.
