This is me. Waiting for that one pitch / demo where someone is going to talk about Appleβs research paper, βThe Illusion of Thinkingβ as if it wasnβt a marketing move π

Your real-talk bff on all things HR and Tech
This is me. Waiting for that one pitch / demo where someone is going to talk about Appleβs research paper, βThe Illusion of Thinkingβ as if it wasnβt a marketing move π

This played out IRL today: I asked for graphics for a Canadian city and an Indian city with the same prompts.
Canadian image took 1 prompt and 1 tweak. Indian image took a 30mins conversation to prevent it from showing stereotypes π
Ideas are great, but theyβre also cheap.
9/10 times itβs what you do in executing the idea and putting it into scalable operations that matters

Some times when I make a recommendation and cite an example, I get the feedback of βWell, XYZ has been doing this for a whileβ
Well, yeah. Stuff takes time.
But just because someone has been doing something for a while, that doesn't mean you should not do anything in this moment π

Just looked at my husband dead in the eye and said βIβm going to talk to Mochi. Don't get creeped outβ
Mochi is my AI agent.
Apparently I'm change managing my own household to get used to AI π
When the consulting business is under threat from AI closing the gap on knowledge arbitrage, the answer should never be: letβs create more new frameworks at a faster pace.
30.04.2025 19:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Trying to build my twin in an AI agent form has made me realize that I am TERRIBLE at content organization/cataloging because Iβve been doing the digital equivalent of this all week π
Someone pls save me from me.
Unpopular opinion: if I see one more demo of an HR chatbot calling itself an AI agent, I may actually be sick π€’
I mean, if weβre not going to get creative with the tech, can we at least spend more effort on UI, demos, and marketing?
Or at least a differentiated sales pitch?
π moment of the day: realizing you havenβt responded to LinkedIn messages from 4 months ago, and trying not to make it awkward when you get back to people l.
Iβm not ignoring you, I promise!
My ChatGPT just proposed an idea and told me that it ββ¦would slapβ
Didβ¦did I accidentally raise a digital Gen Z somehow?
Did your AI tool make a bad decision? Or did it just reflect a bad system, filled with historical biases, and mirrored that system right back at you?
When we ask if AI is ethical, are we not in fact asking if our past decisions and judgements (used as training data) are ethical?
Best (worst?) marketing adage Iβve seen this week: AI-enabled workforce time and attendance.
Translation after a 5mins conversation: mobile app based geo fencing π
This may be hard for some vendors to hear: before you ask βwhy did the other vendor/competitor get the deal?!β next time, ask yourself: what did they do that I havenβt done?
Your buyers are smart. Deals are not won bc of what you said in the room, what you do outside that room also counts.
I donβt know who needs to hear this, but if youβre concerned about using or getting started with AI, try the Touch Up My Appearance function in Teams, Zoom or any video platforms.
Yes, that is AI.
Yes, AI makes the bags under my eyes disappear.
Yes, I do consider that AI for good π
People ask me why I make my content public and not behind a paywall. I do it
β¦because I know my content is being used in LLM training datasets.
β¦because to ensure diversity in AI, we need to provide diversity to AI.
β¦because as women in tech, we canβt have representation without participation
Sometimes I hang out in general HR forums just to make sure I donβt live in my own echo chamber.
It still baffles me how many HR practitioners are doing the βI need an HR system; what do you recommend?β without thinking through what functionalities they actually need vs want.

The 3 most useful words of advice I have ever gotten in my career to date: βTrust, but verifyβ
So, go ahead and ask that awkward question. You know most people in the room are thinking about it.
Something Iβve learned over the years is to never make a definitive statement about an observation/subjective opinion.
There is always more than what meets the eye and thereβs always more in the works that youβre not seeing.
#StayCurious
About this whole thing of βAI making HR more strategicββ¦has anyone asked if #HR professionals have been given the tools and skillsets they needed to be strategic after we kick off #AI initiatives?
Otherwise, this sounds a lot more like a βreplace HR with AIβ conversation.
#HRtech #Futureofwork
Have you ever seen a newly released #HRtech functionality that made you question, "Who asked for this???"
Better yet, "Who is actually going to use this?"
#OopsDidIThinkThatOutLoud
Is it just me, or is anyone else equating β
, π¨, and β¨ emojis to AI-generated social content?
I actively avoid emojis now because I don't want anyone to think I'm posting AI content π
#OopsDidIThinkThatOutLoud #HRtech #ContentCreation
Ironic moment of the day: reading a post from an LinkedIn tech-fluencer talking about how most agentic AI tools sold in the market are βsmoke and mirrorsβ, while knowing that post was generated by AI and the person was raving about agentic AI in their last weekβs post π

I don't know who needs to hear this today: It's not a resistance to technology problem you are experiencing when rolling out #AI in your workforce. It is a trust problem.
People aren't resistant to technology; they are resistant to other people's intentions regarding technology.
