I've been to Indie Pride Con in Manchester today. It was great to meet so many interesting authors and discover some tropes I was not aware of, like reverse harem. I have a large bag of swag, bought some books, and am settling down to read Fang'd by @vingeorgeauthor.bsky.social.

It's a ridiculous amount of words, especially as I used to pride myself on being a drabble queen, and rarely wrote anything over 700-1000 unless I was co-writing stuff. I'm lucky if things come in under 5-10k these days, unless it is a drabble. The muse, she is very productive. 😀

I am doing the pledge habit this year with @gywo.bsky.social. Mine is the excursionist, which is to write 180 days in one year. I'm already over my target for the year so far. If it carries on, I expect to hit 180 by the end of Oct. I've also written 154k words so far, which is nuts!

I'm in Canterbury for a week of cat-sitting for my girlfriend's old demented pusscat, as she's headed abroad for 2 weeks. It's will be a week of treating myself to nice breakfasts, cocktails, and writing - original and fanfic. 2000 words of fanfic managed today. Original tomorrow.

Lol. My Uber driver is in my garden picking peaches of my peach tree. There is an embarrassment of peaches this year, but most are too high up for me to collect. I have scavenged enough for a peach pie, but that is it.

I'm heading off down to London later today for 3 days. I'm going to the Stray Kids concert on Friday night with my GF and our writing BFF. Suspect I may be one of the eldest there, but in the immortal words of Gerard Way, "I don't care!". Gonna be fun 3 days with some writing.

I always find it hilarious when mine does that.

40 years ago today, my dad, his 2 friends, and myself had got to Wembley. We found a good spot - about 1/4 of the way back from the stage - and settled down to wait for the music to start. It was a hot day, and the atmosphere was already building for the Global Jukebox. Miss you, dad ❤️

I don't need to have bought Oasis tickets. I live within walking distance of Heaton Park in Manchester, and with my windows open, and the fact there is no air right now, I can hear every word and the crowd singing along! The fireworks last night were quite spectacular as well.

Went to a pottery class last night in Manchester. One off class to make a clay mug. Think mine is possibly too big to be a mug, and I failed with the handle. Of course, I went with skulls for decoration! Gonna be red dip glazed before firing. Can't wait to see the end result.

I worked in the city at the time. We had to stay in our office. Neither our mobiles or the office land lines worked until the afternoon, and nobody was able to get through to us until that time.

I worked not far from Tavistock Square. I had colleagues heading into work that day. Thankfully, none of them were physically injured. We were told to stay in our office, away from the windows. Phones were down, and we were uncontactable until late afternoon. My thoughts to all affected by this. 💔
