Just had a shock right now when the newsreader on BBC news used the word “Britisher”. Frantically searching around to see if that’s now a thing, until I realised he had, in fact, said “Patricia”.

DG likes his band members to be committed and (perhaps) a bit subservient. Whereas JF is in 20 different projects and is probably far more opinionated in the studio. Again, DG doesn’t like it. None of this makes DG a bad person. But it certainly makes JF a far more interesting musician.

My Foo Fighters theory. Josh Freese is a blinding drummer but he is not, for better or for worse, “a Foo Fighter”. He is lots of things. And, via avid use of social media, very proud of it. DG doesn’t like it.
