Just watched DF retro Unreal bud. they didn’t mention if can we see “old” unreal in its voodoo visual glory on modern hardware. John mentioned special features that were only possible on voodoo, with software rendering (back then) come sorta close. Curious if voodoo is needed to see it that way now?

Makes sense! I would too if I have a lovely crt like that. Have you tried the experimental 4k120 mode with e-conserve scan lines on the tink4k 1.9.7 firmware? Retrorgb has a write up about it on their 1.9.5 firmware post.

But for average person, like my dad, we tried Copilot, he thought it was stupid. He was impressed for a moment with its ability to speak our language, Hungarian, but it’s just not intuitive. He would use it if it was like talking to me in regards to his tech problems.

Tonight was the first time I TRULY found help from ChatGPT in a fun way. I used it to help diagnose why component video output wasn’t working on my mode VA8 Sega Saturn. There’s very little info online about this issue. We identified the faulty part and I replaced it and it worked. I was stunned.

@retrotink.com cc @retrorgb.com Possible 1.9.6 glitch? On the RT4K Pro, the custom modeline used with the E Scanline MPRT profile, “3840, 176, 88, 560, 1, 1080, 4, 5, 45, 1, 120, “3840x1080p120″, 0, 2.0” is greyed out. It worked just fine before I updated the firmware tonight.

Hey Jeff! Nice! Do you replace the 5v resistor HDRetrovision mentions in their troubleshooting guide if component video outputs black only?

I’ve completely recapped mine, Resaturn PSU, fenrir+Saturn switcher, everything works perfect, but I get no component video. Trying to locate that resistor.
