Or maybe just extend health care subsidies.

And yet they fundamentally believe wage growth = inflation so it won't work to pay people more... so, what? Food should be cheaper? People should work 2 or 3 jobs? Just eat fewer days of the week?

You have to convince people that a strike would make a difference, when all evidence seems to be to the contrary, and that if they stick their necks out everyone else will do so too. Asking people to lose their jobs for what might just be a one day news story is tough.

Americans don't know how to do this, there is no tradition of general strikes here and many people don't really know what one is. They can literally lose their jobs and not be able to feed their families.

If you have been to Bryce and seen the scale of the rock formations that would be a ginormous tree.

Don't bother

Of course, yes, that's what he is saying.

Not just the ACA, the list of things people believe Obama and the dems could have done between 2009-2010 is endless and includes codifying abortion rights, which they did not have the votes to do, campaign finance reform and more. People think the dems just voted as instructed, like Republicans.

If you find Trump's tweet of an AI video depicting him dumping shit on crowds of protesters from an airplane, I dunno, maybe not "presidential", I would like to remind you that Barak Obama once wore a tan suit.

In the App/website today (Sun) the story didn't even appear in the "Today" section that most people see. Had to dig to find it. And:

"Mr. Trump’s political team trolled protesters on social media with AI-generated images of the president wearing a crown."

No mention of spewing shit on the crowd.

Of course he didn't win in 2020, only cult members think he did. Even he knew he lost that one.

Relax and enjoy it, right?

I didn't even read it, I just knew it was going to be stupid. NYT really seems to want people to move on from being upset with Trump as if he were not currently doing anything to tear the country apart. I noticed no further mention of yesterday's No Kings marches.

I dropped mine. I still read, via my library card. You probably can too if you want, but I don't give them my money because I can see how corrupted they are.

Millions took to the streets for No Kings in cities and towns across the US, it's all over front pages and social media today, friends are talking about it and texting photos and as far as the NY Times is concerned it was yesterday's weather report.

There is a plan you can enroll in that spreads your prescription costs out over the year called MPPP (Medicare Prescription Payment Plan). Works with any Part D plan.

They do though. That's what has them scared, and they really do sound scared.

He was attractive, played the saxophone, had black friends and had smoked marijuana (but claimed he didn't inhale πŸ˜‰), his wife started a big controvery by saying she wasn't going to stay home and bake cookies, the kids with their ideas were taking over!

I'm not Gingrich's age but older than you and Clinton was the first baby boomer president. He was much younger than his predecessors and represented generational change. Read this from when he was elected if you want to understand.

Better to meet the team, with the person they report to, otherwise it seems like you're trying to divide and conquer. I recall at an organization I worked for the new President had weekly no-agenda lunches with different departments in his first few months. I think that's better.

Always a high risk endeavor. You should always assume they are looking for people to fire and you have no idea what their criteria are. Nobody should be blunt unless willing to dress it up in Bari Weiss buzzwords like "heterodox" and "illiberal" and "uncomfortable truths".

And I think the other side is don't make your message more complicated. This is all for the public, not for the Republican leaders.

They're not negotiating though. There are no negotiations. They are messaging and health care is in my view the right one.

Any time someone tells you "he can't do that" ask them who is going to stop him?

That's a lot to chew on.

Here in LA the National Guard troops ended up sitting around twiddling their thumbs and made Trump look like a fool. If you don't want to give them a fight, don't.

That would explain how incoherent he sounds.

Is nobody capable of saying "Portland is not war-ravaged, so why do you keep saying it is?"

Because they were convinced everyone hated him and would never reelect him, only to find out that he was popular.
