I'm in the middle of writing on it more extensively and may post tomorrow once I put the words together, but I need the thought out now, in any way I can convey it. And it's this... Everyone outside of the US and what's happening now NEEDS to remember that our countries are NOT better than the US. And amidst all the despair I feel for those that my heart aches for there, I dearly want them to know that there are others who know this also. We, farther afield, are NOT better than you 🫂 Any and ALL "democratic" nations are always just ONE election away from the orchestrated cruelty that we're seeing. What's happening with the person I won't even name is the blatant disregard held by ALL who favour profit over care, and ALL who in turn profit from that disregard, EVERYWHERE. The difference is that the VERY same game that plays out in EVERY single nation - the dice, the pieces, the board - was handed to a man who lacks the emotional maturity of any "diplomatic" pretense that ALL politicians carefully present of themselves when shifting lines in the sand for their own benefit, be they supposedly left or right. One... single... election. That line in the sand that we're watching being drawn now in the US... Wherever you are, there are others in power watching also, with their fingers twitching at sticks of their own and carrots by their feet. Hold them to account wherever possible. ALL of them. Especially now. Everywhere.

Personally, for me, this year hasn't at all been what I expected, especially this last month or so. It doesn't feel like it's gone the way anyone expected in all things.
