rewatched the Shinomori scene I'm a big big fan of the anime picking En, specifically, for him to shove into the others to shove them collectively out of the way. thank you forever and ever for playing even further into how En feels about this. really nice touch

Like Yoichi is the one who deserves to be credited as founder of OFA for the sheer reasons of it being him. That power of will, the central one backing up anyone else's and allowing them to hold out, the holder's will is there but the natural resistance in the quirk is Yoichi

(This is assuming their people knew about OFA and I can see many arguments on that. But I imagine AFO would be loud enough about it that it's difficult for me to see the others not knowing about it by the time Kudou is dead)

Like when he told people he was headed for the hills. Or when he got back and told them what he had done. What did that even fucking look like.

I wonder what it was like to be someone who had been under Kudou's command and who was now following Bruce. It's hard to imagine Bruce even acknowledging any changes in philosophy as opposed to saying we're picking up where Leader left off

Insane to me that Bruce is probably the biggest founder of OFA in terms of its philosophy and the way its story is told. He pulls a lot from Kudou about what it represents but it's him who had to figure out how to tell the story to a stranger. The story he told is the story that gets told

Again Kudou keeps talking about the brutal decisions he's made but it's Bruce who was able to make the most brutal decision about how OFA was going to survive and what it was going to mean to hold it. Shinomori obviously had a hand in it but he sought Shinomori out

Bruce is a bridge between two idealists cut from extremely different cloth and seems to consider himself just someone who figured the pragmatics out when in reality he was tasked with reinventing this thing's entire future

Has he spoken a word directly to Shinomori within canon at all. I cannot remember

Bruce self defines as a follower but he named the quirk, created the model by which it has been handed down ever since, and defined its future. Doesn't seem to credit himself with anything. Doesn't even fucking comment on being the guy who had to figure out what to do

Sorry it just gets me. Kudou talks a big game about the brutal things he's done for their cause but Bruce has crossed lines that Kudou might well have refused to. He made OFA into a much more brutal experience and he and Hikage are the reason it survived to the present day full stop

I think it's probably something he considers one of the brutal choices he's made in his life. Bruce is the one who passed OFA from Kudou's firm opinions about those who run alongside you, to an intergenerational mess of near-total isolation. He did it on purpose

Bc we know now thanks to the fanbook that Hikage was already a hermit when Bruce sought him out. Bruce made the decision to isolate OFA away from anyone else in the world.

Bruce says to Kudou—as vestiges, decades later—that he's always followed Kudou and this is the first time he's voiced disapproval. That's true, but it's not the first time he's taken action Kudou may well drastically disapprove of

I don't imagine it was Kudou's intention to leave anyone ALONE with OFA given what he feels about that when Izuku does it to himself.

Vast numbers of his friends are dead. Bruce is left holding OFA and leading a smaller, grieving army, and it is Bruce who watches what Kudou built dwindle and die. Frankly it's Bruce who kills it. If there were any survivors after Bruce's last stand, OFA wasn't with them anymore.

I'm talking abt the guy who is there beside Kudou. Helps him figure out that OFA exists. Helps him experiment on the bounds of it. Agrees to take it in anticipation of Kudou's death. Bruce is the first one who has to Live With the long term consequences of this thing

Thanks to people in vestige server, we've talked before about how he reacts to Kudou acting Quite unwell in the aftermath of Yoichi's death both physically and mentally. I'll loop back to that but it's not what the post is for
