The problem with the horse-race coverage of Trump II is that, across the board, he is destroying nonzero sum arrangements: rule of law, institutions, collective goods, trade relationships, alliances.

So what the media portrays as a win for Trump is usually a net loss for everyone, including the US.

The Orange County Mayor, which encompasses Orlando, signed an agreement to cooperate with ICE as he, along with the entire board of county commissioners, were threatened with removal from office if they didn't.

They should've forced DeSantis to do it and not take the cowardly way out.

We need a steady drumbeat of pressure:
Project 2029:
1. Prosecution of all officials who have committed unlawful acts;
2. Restoration of the White House
3. Immigration reform with an orderly pathway to citizenship
4. Restoration of the agencies decimated by DOGE
5. Reform of the Supreme Court
etc.

I'm not saying it would change much but I do kind of wish reporters with access would repeatedly, like every day, ask Republicans in Congress why they have decided that blatant corruption of the sort that has been consensus illegal for centuries is now basically entirely legal for this one guy.
