To this very day, for me personally, nothing compares to the soundtracks of Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, Golden Sun and Terranigma.

I thought this was implying you are not scared of consequences of NOT doing something, in other words you do not care about threats from other persons. It is almost the opposite of a threat, isn't it?

We didn't get beyond the Windows Millennium (yep) login screen because we didn't have PS2 keyboard or mouse at hand (I can only carry so much stuff and expected my friend to have those at home).

Sadly, I wanted to hit my buddy up with a new graphics card, so we can play some multiplayer stuff, but that thing only has PCI slots, and I don't really have anything faster than S3 Virge or ATI Rage Pro Turbo to offer there.

It was labeled "Katja" and the 8 audio tracks labeled Katja Session n" where n is the number of the track - apparently a woman named Katja was making a kind of demo where she was singing ballads HORRIBLY wrong, the kind of wrong they'd show you on casting shows before the recall to mock people.

The OS installed is Microsoft Windows ME and that's where we encountered a temporary roadblock - my friend only had USB input devices, which worked in DOS, but required drivers in WinME.
Will visit again soon and provide these so we can snoop through the harddisk!
Found the funniest CD, though.

It's a wild motherboard with socket 370 AND slot 1!
An Intel Celeron 600E is working in the socket.
Some madman added 320 MB RAM.
Sadly, only a network and modem card in the expansion slots,
the integrated graphics processor is an Intel i752 with 8 MB!

We're in Germany, it probably belonged to a kid who was a fan around the millennium.

Visiting an old friend of mine in about two hours.
He moved relatively recently and found this in the attic.
Now I finally found a free evening to come over and we'll be looking if it still works, if we can resurrect it, if there's any files left on the HDD and so on.

The other thing I love is this marinade: peanut oil, sweet soy sauce (kecap manis), salty soy sauce (kecap asin), coconut milk, ginger, lemongrass, chili and a small squirt of lemon juice (just a few drops).
Use it for chicken skewers that are then grilled and topped with peanut sauce.

It's my favorite sweet soy sauce, and I've tried a lot.
At least it is since they no longer sell the "Healthy Boy" brand over here, which had both a great thin/light/salty soy sauce and a great thick/dark/sweet one.
I mostly use it in a marinade or for Nasi Goreng.

Uhm yeah, I decided I will cut a hole into the thin client instead and make this fit.
Maybe I'll find time tomorow. It will be invisible from outside, because the front plastic is still covering what I cut away.

I came *very* close to simply sanding off the last mm of this Terratec 16/96 Gold , because it has absolutely superior sound quality and the wavetable connector is placed high enough, but but it's a single millimeter too long for the Neoware CA2's case.

And this is what the wavetable daughterboard sounds like: it's the samples from a Roland SC-55, just with the effects processor configured slightly different.

For the time being, I'll help myself out with this ultra cheapo ESS 1869FC card that has a wavetable connector turned 180° and located at the bottom.
The sound quality of the base card is obviously not the same as a high end card, but my Terratec Maestro 16/96 is 1mm too long to fit.

If you do that more an once, it surely is, but I have never wanted or needed to make another ribbon cable so far in my life.🤷

In theory I could even use this, even though it has more pins than I need lol.
That would be one ugly solution, though.

Yeah, that's what I mean. I don't have the tools (or materials) so I'll look if I can order one, in no parallel universe will it be worth financially to make a single ribbon cable myself.

So, this sound card (Labway LWHA151A00) has an original Yamaha OPL3 sound chip and a wavetable connector.
It is short enough to fit the Neoware CA2.
But the damn thing is too low profile - my wavetable daughterboard collides with the next slot!
A simple 2x13pin male to female cable could solve it.
