As of now, my most recent project, greaterrealityarea.net, is a return to the spirit that created North of Reality, informed by all the journeys, studies, and strang encounters I've had since its conception over a decade ago. No matter how long you've been here, I hope you enjoy reading!

I wrote about comparative tarot largely during the pandemic, at compoundeye.substack.com, which is now free to read. As a collector of tarot decks, I found the choices artists make, and how they inform the whole of the medium to be a compelling space to write about at length.

During this time, I was traveling for work on a regular basis, during which times I picked up studying tarot by reading for strangers in bars, photography from the many curious places I found wandering alone at night, and cocktails from exploring the nightlife of unfamiliar territory.

Towards the end of this, I launched a smaller project called Trespasser, which used to live at trespassagainst.us. These days it mostly exists on the internet archive, for those who want to go hunting. It was an exploration of the relationship between fiction and disinformation online.

In 2015 I launched the fiction website North of Reality (northofreality.com) to start posting longer works on a regular basis in order to approximate something like a webcomic's publishing schedule. There are nearly 300 of my old pieces there, with many sublinks and even a footnote interface.

Given the volumes of new people I should do an introduction thread. I'm Uel, I live in Minneapolis currently, and have lived all over the United States over the last decade. I was part of the fiction-writing side of weird twitter, from around 2012 onward, and wrote a good deal before the downfall.

I'm really tired of seeing all these dem politicians saying "well we all want secure borders, but-" in all these fucking pressers. I don't really give a shit how good my neighbors are at doing paperwork. I don't think people who say "come here the right way" understand that they themselves couldn't.
