100% this. There’s a real sense of scale to the shots made using actual models that’s almost impossible to replicate in CG - same with realistic lighting and shadows

I recommend checking out Adam Savage’s YouTube channel. He has a whole series checking out filming models of ships from a variety of sci-fi shows but there’s a huge number of Trek ships!

Yes they can stop you from going into the car park area… though you can just stand on the street outside and see/hear everything anyway.

At the end of the day, it’s up to the individual. I’ve never personally bothered going into any of the stages but if that’s your thing, get the wristband 🙂

I can understand the trepidation but security cannot stop you. They’ll check your bag, but that’s as much as they can do.

I know plenty of people who don’t buy wristbands and haven’t done for years, and they never have any issues.

You don’t need a wristband to access the village. The wristband just gives access to the stages and buy drinks from bars, though only a few enforce it.

If you just want to drink on the street, pop to a supermarket beforehand and buy some tinnies to take in with you. No glass, but cans are okay.
