I had an opportunity to meet and get a recording of Maggie Robertson at the convention. I wanted her to say her infamous "STUPID MANthing!" line, but I got cold feet about it.

Now I'm regretting not doing it. Aaahhh!

The convention has a booth area for "that wizarding boy" and its collective franchise.

I get why. There are people who are able to disassociate the fantasy and the world from the author and still hold happy memories.

I'm also happy I have seen very little cosplay or merch about it around the con.

What is Sad Nuggie and how did it become like Pusheen or Labubu levels of popular?

Honkai StarRail putting their shit on CARS.

The source of many a child's energy during the convention. And many a con-goers frustration with those kids.

Like, only ONE artsy-craftsy booth had KPop Demon Hunter merch ready to go. A few artists had some posters and such bit this was really the only non-poster merch I saw.

Other random stuff at the convention:

- The Doctor Who Daleks talk and they're loud and obnoxious, just like on the show!

- A criminally small number of KPop Demon Hunter and Clair Obscur cosplays and merch.

- Kudos to the 75yr old woman in the Alastor (Hazbin Hotel) cosplay.

Falcor!

A quick pre-opening display of The Neverending Story booth. They were selling photo ops for each of the "attractions", which included the Rockbiter, a "Saving Artax" exhibit, and Flying with Falcor. Each was individually priced or a generous discount applied if you wanted pics of everything.

Some Power Ranger stuff is here because David Fielding is present. I mean, even without Zordon, the Power Rangers stuff would still have booth space and cosplayers. Its impressive how popular that franchise is still.

The controls are VERY loose on all of them. Its not me who sucks at playing them. Nope.

- Great to see the convention posting signs about the selling of AI produced art. I hope I get to see a flipping of said tables (nothing so far).

- Some Star Trek booth photos. The local club seems to be heavily fixated on OGST and TNG eras, sadly.

If that's where I think it is, it also used to be a Burger King.

I see people holding the ball lots of ways, even with the Leaguers that play at my local alley. Most of them don't use a custom ball either. 🤷‍♂️

I just want it to stop being called "pumpkin spice". The pumpkin, if its real and present as Starbucks claims it is, isn't even the tasty part. Its the allspice, nutmeg and cinnamon. The stuff that masks the bland pumpkin part.

But its too late to call it "Autumn Spice" or "Earthy Nutty Shit" drink
