Nature security assessment on global biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse and national security This strategic assessment explores how global biodiversity loss and the collapse of critical ecosystems could affect the UK’s resilience, security and prosperity.

An across-government technical assessment published today recognises that "nature is the foundation of national security" and that "every critical ecosystem is on a pathway to collapse". A rational response to this would be to get very serious about nature recovery.

It’s gone public… beavers are back in the Somerset Levels, specifically in the Avalon Marshes area - spreading naturally from other populations. Woohoo! We look forward to them spreading throughout the Levels, and they will always be welcome if they turn up on our sites. Somersetwildlands.org

What an interesting & inspiring time I had yesterday at Spains Hall in Essex, where farmer Archie is building a new farming business with Nature recovery at its very core. This includes three sets of Beaver wetlands, where wildlife is coming back while reducing flood risk in the downstream village.

Managed to enjoy a chilly walk through the Devon lanes ahead of to work today. Autumn colours and crunchy leaves 😀 #Nature #wellbeing #Devon
