Seriously, start using an app like Flipp, and consider making ‘pantries in a plastic tub’ of your favorite ‘daily necessities’, like coffee, tea, etc. that come via the US (or for US folks, that come from everywhere else, because you either can’t grow it locally, or don’t have the industry for it).

Just a gentle reminder that Brazil is a major coffee producing country, and supplies a large percentage of multiple big brands’ coffee blends. So if you thought there was a jump in your daily coffee’s prices in store in the last few weeks, buckle up, and hold onto your mugs.

Seriously though, that design work feels like a firm nod to Star Wars. It’s such a trad/old school sci-fi sound, and I fcking LOVE it!

It’s kind of hard to tell, because the dialogue design for the Aionians is so deliciously synthy-sci fi…and I don’t know a bloody word of Finnish. 😆

Oh I 100% like getting the call in the field - that part is awesome! But they missed the mark with the ‘how’. Because our Ghost isn’t very ‘jokey’, he tends to be quite serious and thoughtful, so I just can’t connect the call style being fun/cute to his personality, if that makes any sense. 😅

Fingers firmly crossed for him! Hoping he finds something great, soon!

Honestly the long stretches of lonely ‘figure it out’ silence sometimes stress me out, to the point of pulling me out the game. These helpful (sometimes sassy) comments from friendly voices over comms are JUST SO FREAKING NICE! 🥰

I’m going to add something that I’m loving from a player perspective with the EoF dialogue, though - the hint comments. Before, we had these long stretches of stressful silence ingame, where it would 100% make sense for Ghost to offer a suggestion/opinion. To finally have him, (& others!) speak up?

Do the birds on Kepler have a name yet? And do we all think these are closer to parrots or corvids? (I can’t quite tell from the sounds they make, which are ADORABLE, btw.)

They keep asserting they're going to put AI in everything, including critical, dangerous systems. Meanwhile, AI is like, "sure, eat those yard mushrooms, the word strawberry has 88 Rs, I'm Mecha Hitler, here's Taylor Swift naked when you didn't even ask for it and she has eleven fingers lol"

Btw, I’m not picking on any one team, because I’ve been LOVING the dialogue up to now. But this change is very jarring in between the good stuff.

And if he can’t say it (maybe he doesn’t even realize it’s happening?? Poor little dude), find a way for Ikora to hear it and mention how wierd it is. Make it part of the phenomena.

I’m hoping this is the only area this happens moving forward. Really, really, REALLY hoping.)

(I’m only on mission Fallow right now, so maybe it’s explained later…like maybe it’s just an effect of Kepler. Which, ok, fine, but have Ghost MENTION HOW FCKING WIERD THAT FEELS compared to not having his brain and vocals hijacked by an outside force AGAIN.

Dialogue performance IS STORYTELLING - what the hell are you saying when he’s essentially hijacked in a wierd Witness-style way because now the Vanguard want you to know they’re calling, instead of just popping up without turning your friend into an answering bot???

It’s SO FRUSTRATING. He isn’t a little piece of tech - just like the Exos, Ghost is a person who happens to have a metal body. For him to click over into stilted answering bot mode FOR NO GOOD REASON is unsettling, and off putting. Just let him say ‘Guardian, you have a call!’ IN HIS REGULAR VOICE.

I can be a tiny bit spoilery on EoF, right? Can we talk about Ghost’s new way of saying there’s an incoming call?

We just went through an entire DLC wrapped around his potential loss, and how he’s our friend and a brave, unique soul. Now Ikora calls, and he’s a fcking robot.

I saw a YT comment that sometimes the best way to go w/short chunky tails is just split the yarn, and knot through side stitches, so I may try that if all else fails. 😭
