If you can’t make it during an off-season time, consider going to “Islands of Adventure” instead. Seriously. That park is still stellar. You’ll have a damn good time, I swear! It’s not worth it to go to Epic Universe on a popular day from what I hear. There can be multiple 4-hr lines!!

It’s a REALLY cool park, but unfortunately they’re filling it about 2-3x more than they should be and with how complex most of the rides are, there’s a lot of down time. This makes for agonizingly long queue lines. About half of said lines are awesome at least.

To find an off-season day, basically look for middle-of-the-week days that have a cheaper ticket price. The lower the price, the more off-season. Typically, January/February has the most off-season days as well as the first or second week of September.

In the off-chance you plan to go to Epic Universe before 2027, you may want to consider finding the most off-season day you can find to go. That’s what I did. It was still super crowded, but I was at least able to ride mostly everything.

My friend that went to Epic Universe with me tried going again on a recent weekend, and had a VERY different experience. I guess we just got super lucky the first time.

Said most of the rides were delayed almost all day this time, and the crowds were insane.

While I think most criticisms about the new Tame Impala album are valid, I do enjoy it a fair bit. Helps that I really like EDM a lot, so his shift towards that direction over time has just been like trading cake for pie. Love them both.

Will be interesting to see what he does next.

Overall, it felt like the series steadily gets better relatively linearly as it progresses. It’s not a perfect show, and maybe one or two plot developments feel a bit extra, but it’s largely entertaining enough to be forgivable.

Pretty excited for S5 again. Hope it doesn’t fumble.

S1 was oddly the hardest to re-watch because it relied heavily on the mystery. Once you know what’s going on, it’s not quite as entertaining to sit through, but is still pretty solid.

The “Cut to previous episode footage” moments are very annoying when you watch the series back-to-back.

Finished re-watching Stranger Things.

Thoughts:

S2 works a lot better once you have the full series context, but is still a bit slower than the rest.

The production value leap from one season to the next is staggering.

S4 is still a banger and a half, albeit slightly overindulgent.

Kind of impressive how much EA’s Skate directs you to the store hoping you’ll spend real money when it may very well have the least exciting cosmetic store I’ve ever seen in a game.

Been rewatching Stranger Things, and it’s wild how much the production value jumps up in quality each season.

Really miss the “Activision O2”/“EA Sports: BIG” era

May or may not be a hot take. I haven’t been keeping up with the latest Wes Anderson discourse.

When I saw it in theaters, I knew I was witnessing a new all-time classic, and no other Wes Anderson film I’ve seen since has had that effect. I still like them, but this was on its own level.

What movie do you consider “perfect?”

I wanna like the new skate game, but it feels even MORE corporate and smoothed-over than the Tony Hawk 3+4 remake.

Playable, but depressingly unexciting.

If not, I wouldn’t worry about it too much because it’s a very new park and there’s already plans to add more attractions. In a few years it’ll likely feel more complete. Right now it’s VERY small, just extremely dense with detail and quality rides.

Anyway, if you have the means to go, I’d say it’s worth it. Definitely try to go at an off-season time if you can (like feb) so you can cut down on waiting in lines, and don’t expect to eat much if you’re on a budget, but it’s worth a trip if you’re a theme park enthusiast and have the budget.

If I had to gripe about something, it’s that even for theme park prices, everything there is INSANELY expensive! Would have loaded up on merch if it would have been 1/3rd of the price. They wanted $20 for this fridge magnet.

Me and my friend were there when it opened all the way until it closed. The park somehow looks even better at night basically everywhere.
