Yo, why is github's interface so damn bad despite being so widely used? It feels way more frustrating to use github compared to back when I used to use gitlabs and bitbucket for projects.

My weird advice for people who want to get better at art, or at least improve their mindset about it, is to start playing fighting games and participate in events and tournaments.

Just can't get into it. Chiyo turned out alright at least.

Becoming a fighting game player and competing in tournaments has actually done wonders for my mindset about art. I get thrashed all the time, but the experience is eye opening, and I've seen myself grow past the mistakes I've made.

These guys have been labbing and getting experience during the time others have been complaining. Do you really think these people got this good over night?

But the fact that people continue to see this as talent and not a trained skill rubs me the wrong way. Do you really think people are innately born with this ability? Do you really think they didn't shed so much blood, sweat, and tears to reach that level?

I've been comparing learning art to learning fighting games and still continue to do so. People who complain about not having enough talent to make good art feels comparable to me hearing folks complaining about not having enough talent to be good at fighting games. Both come from a place of envy.

I'm suddenly remembering how disastrous the Phantom Breakers Battlegrounds netplay was when it initially launched. Maybe one of the reasons we got Ultimate was to fix whatever spaghetti code was implemented for that.
