It's a real treat today to welcome @emmajourno.bsky.social to the podcast to discuss her book Ultra Women.
We've got wonderful stories. We've got sociology. We've got history. We've got physiology. We've got a good dose of "invisible women" in there as well.

You wrote that part so well. Especially the unsettled unmoored feelings and the rejection. It was brilliantly done and I felt so invested and connected because you were writing my feelings. Thank you!!!

Perfect holiday read. Thank you @toryscott.bsky.social what a brilliant story (though I empathised far too much with Beth’s marital situation which was both affirming to be “seen” and also a bit unexpectedly unsettling).

Thank you for your wonderful review. I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
I wish everyone would read it too.
Especially politicians. Then all doctors, whose voices are unsettlingly quiet on the matter of our government led withdrawal of trans healthcare and how this fits with ‘do no harm’.
