After the Louvre jewelry heist on Sunday, a photo distributed by The Associated Press showing three policemen outside the museum β€” and a sharply-dressed man β€” confused many people on social media. Who is the dapper man? Is he even real? nyti.ms/42TI9RE

Honestly think Alan Carr is playing a blinder on Traitors. At the heart of every funny moment.

He’s been a mainstay on TV for years but can see his career getting even higher, maybe one of the BBC’s biggest stars.

In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

β€œAt a time when we are surrounded by fakes and fabrications, Sora seems precisely designed to further erode the idea of objective truth. It is a jackhammer that demolishes the barrier between the real and the unreal,” Bobbie Johnson writes.

Rayner is absolute class. She's been a bit silly in organising her taxes, but that's not why they hate her. They hate her because she did not know her place.

This is absolute insanity.

Half of the boys in these schools listen to podcasts and follow influencers who now spread Neo-Nazi propaganda every single day.

Focus on that instead of this, which does nothing to stop Jew hatred and only inflames it.

JOINT STATEMENT ON GAZA FROM AFP, AP, BBC NEWS AND REUTERS

β€œWe are desperately concerned for our journalists in Gaza, who are increasingly unable to feed themselves and their families. For many months, these independent journalists have been the world’s eyes and ears on the ground in Gaza. They are now facing the same dire circumstances as those they are covering.

β€œJournalists endure many deprivations and hardships in warzones. We are deeply alarmed that the threat of starvation is now one of them.

β€œWe once again urge the Israeli authorities to allow journalists in and out of Gaza. It is essential that adequate food supplies reach the people there.”

"We, the signatories listed below, come together with a simple, urgent message: the war in Gaza must end now.
"The suffering of civilians in Gaza has reached new depths. The Israeli government's aid delivery model is dangerous, fuels instability and deprives Gazans of human dignity. We condemn the drip feeding of aid and the inhumane killing of civilians, including children, seeking to meet their most basic needs of water and food. It is horrifying that over 800 Palestinians have been killed while seeking aid. The Israeli Government's denial of essential humanitarian assistance to the civilian population is unacceptable. Israel must comply with its obligations under international humanitarian law.
"The hostages cruelly held captive by Hamas since 7 October 2023 continue to suffer terribly. We condemn their continued detention and call for their immediate and unconditional release. A negotiated ceasefire offers the best hope of bringing them home and ending the agony of their families.

"We call on the Israeli government to immediately lift restrictions on the flow of aid and to urgently enable the UN and humanitarian NGOs to do their life saving work safely and effectively.
"We call on all parties to protect civilians and uphold the obligations of international humanitarian law. Proposals to remove the Palestinian population into a "humanitarian city" are completely unacceptable. Permanent forced displacement is a violation of international humanitarian law.
"We strongly oppose any steps towards territorial or demographic change in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The E1 settlement plan announced by Israel's Civil Administration, if implemented, would divide a Palestinian state in two, marking a flagrant breach of international law and critically undermine the two-state solution. Meanwhile, settlement building across the West Bank including East Jerusalem has accelerated while settler violence against Palestinians has soared. This must stop.

In Praise of Kim Leadbeater The Labour MP has provided a vision of what politics can be: practical, empathetic, consensual and rational.

The person we have to thank is Kim Leadbeater: an astonishingly accomplished MP. She is proof that political change is possible, if you set your heart on it and put your mind to it. iandunt.substack.com/p/in-praise-...

Paris said au revoir to cars. Air pollution maps reveal a dramatic change. Air pollution fell substantially as the city restricted car traffic and made way for parks and bike lanes.

Over the past 20 years, Paris has undergone a major physical transformation, trading automotive arteries for bike lanes, adding green spaces and eliminating 50,000 parking spaces.

Part of the payoff has been invisible β€” in the air itself.

Pretty disturbed by some of the Kremlin framing on the Trump talks being bought by parts of the media worldwide. It’s as if the genesis of the war is entirely forgotten. This isn’t a conflict which needs mediation. It was an unprovoked act of aggression. It could end tomorrow if Putin just withdrew.
