I had to pay $900 for a sleep study (which was an at-home test I administered myself) and then $1500 for a CPAP machine AFTER my insurance. I will never listen to someone who is worried about single-payer healthcare raising their taxes.

AND YET I see article after article about how other games are having to move their release date because the "titan" team cherry disrupted them. And I see complaints about how selling a game for $20 instead of $60 or $80 only further devalues work in the games industry.

Silksong's release has convinced me that you just can't do anything right on the internet. A small indie game company finally delivers a complete game in the year they said they would at the shockingly low price of $20 (AND offering a free upgrade on the Switch version for Switch 2). Great moves.

There is a general chat for artists and curators and a huge portion of the active chatters are Ai producers talking about how their numbers are doing. I hate it. It takes everything in my body not to just flat tell them that I hate everything they're doing and what they represent.

Sometimes I go on the playlist submission website Submithub to use their free credits to get tracks on playlists (particularly when they are close to 1,000 like this) and I'm floored by how many Ai "artists" there are there.

Years ago I used a small blog site called Melodramatic and it's making me miss weird little corners of the internet like that. I need some recommendations of small blog sites and/or social media platforms that aren't just gimmicky ad mills.

People who make youtube videos unboxing and reviewing cheap, fun things from walmart so i can see if it's worth my $10 are doing the lord's work.

Few things are as delightful and unproblematic as the Nautilus Live youtube channel.

I really just don't understand why sales people who call my workplace think I'm going to just let them talk to my CEO. like, oh yeah, I'll just ask him to stop what he's doing and listen to your sales pitch, I'm definitely NOT going to pretend he's busy and pass you along to his email.

To be clear: I DO condone violence and riots as a means of protest in a general sense, but I SPECIFICALLY condone it when the government is actively breaking laws to perform raids and arrest people.

I have finally achieved my goal in Summoners War. Being good at the game? No. Solid understanding of the mechanics? Not at all. Building a good team? Couldn't be me.

Its probably for the best that I have to have a day job, because if I didn't I'd be making so many mediocre youtube video essays on niche topics.

While this thread may sound like an advertisement for Nebula (and it is absolutely a full-on endorsement of it), I was not paid to say nice things about them. In fact, I pay them $5 every month.

PLUS they offer a "lifetime subscription" where you can pay $300 once and then never pay for it ever again as long as Nebula exists and I am absolutely going to do that at some point (hopefully this year). They have high-quality content and behave the way we all wish streaming services would.

It would have been completely reasonable for them to just notify me of the price increase and then start charging me the new price (like every other subscription service does) but they instead chose to consider the people who support the platform and to do right by them.

Things like this are part of why I like @nebula.tv. I have had the $5 subscription for a while and even though their rate has increased to $6/month they continue to honor my current price.
