He's an absolute whizz with Mario Maker but has been loving Scratch and getting into actual programming.

He's played so much on the SNES and Mega drive (and is better than I ever was!)

When I bought them for the Switch on a whim, I never thought he'd get this obsessed! 😂 Saying that though, he's probably the only kid below 10 I know that has played Dynamite Headdy too! Quite proud of my kid's retro chops.

Got my son the Doom games for his laptop and he's ecstatic to be able to play the Simpsons mod. Next up is a level editor...

Gotta love that that is their solution rather than, I don't know, fixing things.

SHAPES OF POWER®

One thing I love about having lots of drawing to do is that I can just sit and watch films all day while I do it. Today it's Ghost followed by The Fugitive, two films I possibly watch way too regularly.

It's happening!! In June 2026, Squid Bits: That's a Nice Hat will be coming out! This book is a collection of some of the Squid Bits comics I've been working on since 2014 for The Phoenix and it's so exciting to finally see it in book form! There're some vintage SB strips in there too!

The fossil one is definitely an early xmas present! Worth it to see his face when a 150 million year old piece of coral was in day one!

I got my son a fossil calendar and his mind was blown!

Plush Cacodemon progress! More horns to add plus the back three segments to make it a ball but so far our slightly ramshackle plan has worked out! Son has sewn a good 80% of this (I take over for the tricky bits) and is having a great time making it!

Watching Back to the Future 2 and sewing with my son, showing him how to make a plushie. I used to make tons of soft toys when I was a kid so this is a nice thing to share with him.

Oh yes, it delights him greatly!

I made the mistake of introducing him to the originals. He is now obsessed and knows EVERYTHING about the games. He is 9. Saying that though, he completed Contra 3 when he was 6 so this feels like a natural progression.
