It's too soon to tell, because my sales since reopening have been on par with before I closed, but I'll let you know how it goes. My best month is usually January, so that will be the test.
At worse, the higher prices allow me to give discounts to my regulars.

In my case I had to decide if I wanted to sell a lot (Etsy really likes that) or if I raise my prices, sell a bit less but make a similar profit.
I cannot work at the same pace I used to. It's just that simple. I was in bed for 3 months. I decided to raise prices.

These gold and platinum coated glass earring here, were about $18 and no one bought them. Now they are flying at $27.

It's the curse of those that do these things for passion rather than profit. We always sell ourselves too low.
I'll tell you a secret, I reopened my store a week or 2 ago after being sick for almost 6 months, raised the prices and still sold really well.

Indeed, my daughter and my husband did the Cost of Goods for my products, including all the fees, shipping, etc. and I had to raise my prices. In same cases it was like I was including a couple of $ in every shipment.

This is a picture I took at an outdoor festival in California. The blue/azure glass is what we called "Iceware" and we made it using broken, tempered plate glass. Beside the platter there is a bowl, some candlesticks, a few boxes and a picture frame. The colored hearts (if you can't tell, that's what they are, hearts and little winged cupids) are cast glass.There are also some platters made with white glass and 18 karat gold, not unlike how ceramics are made.

Here is some more glassword I used to make over 30 years ago. I hope the designs stood the test of time, as I am not the best person to ask.

I'll see if I can find it. I know it's on Etsy, but I don't remember where. My husband has it and when I need it I ask him.
He is the tech-support/hardware/software wizard in the house (he also was a glass artist once). He is the one that does all the graphic design and photography for my work.

Beautiful work! My daughter does some similar things with he jewelry, but it's outside my abilities. I can still admire it though.

I knew about Uranium glass, but the last time I had heard of it was when I had an active Glass Studio in 1990.
Thank you for reminding me of this exceptional form of glass and for posting the pictures. Back then we had to walk miles in the snow to see a picture of anything.

This plate (I think) it's Mufasa, from the Lion King series we did for Disney. Each plate is about 23" in diameter, very expensive and time consuming. The first thing the ehen CEO did was to take our fist sample and hung it in his office. Flattering, but he never even asked. My daughter is now buying these signed and numbered examples on eBay and she is rebuilding our collection. Going back that far is both nice and painful. It was a time before chronic pain, before my work had to be limited to glass earrings because lifting anything else is too hard. Then there is all our pets, our babies, from that decade. All of them with a piece of our hearts. That includes my now adult daughter. Seeing her as a toddler is also painful and pleasant. #etsy #glass #artglass #PamelaContiGlass

In the 90s I was in a car accident with my family. I injured my neck and we had to close our Art Glass factory.
I have been looking for pictures of the products we made back then so I could post them here, but going that far back also means finding pics of our pets. It's hard.

A very bad picture of our Iceware. We can't make it anymore because tempered glass producers don't make nearly as many mistakes as they used to. It was also labor intensive and my back couldn't take the stress even if we could find the correct glass to make them.

These are things we made for Walt Disney Galleries. The "perfume Bottle" with the sandblasted scarab was particularly idiotic, then again, working for Disney was a complete let down.

Sure. Been working with fused glass since 1989 and guess what our main product was? Picture frames.
We made between 1k to 5k frames a month and sold them all over.
The other line we had was Iceware, which we made with tempered glass. These days, we have smaller ambitions.

I signed up, but there are no listings of any kind in my part of California. However, I have saved it in a Chrome Profile Group. and I'll check it as it grows.
For my work, selling by mail is better than in person, but I am up for buying things I need as the site grows.

I love my local library. I can check books out, I get audiobooks for those nights I can't sleep, they even have lecture series on a number of topics, music concerts and other partnerships that are simply awesome. Check out your local library, download Libby and LEARN!

I'll check the site out for other things. I am always on the lookout for tools, machinery, and other stuff.
Also, my husband buys a lot of music gear for his pianos and guitars. I'll make an account and see what happens.

I'll take a look. Looks more like a garage sale (nothing wrong with that) than a place to sell arts and crafts, but I'd love to be wrong as Etsy drives me nuts.

These glass earrings are coated in real gold and silver and come in long or short size

Iceware was made using 1/2" or 3/8" tempered plate glass, broken and then fused back together. The bowl and the candlesticks in this pictures are made that way. The "Perfume bottle" with the scarab and the plate, were commission from Walt Disney Galleries. I'll check if I can find better pictures of those.

A long time ago, when I still had a factory to make glass at scale, my husband and I invented a line of giftware we called "IceWare". Unfortunately, we depended on tempered glass factories making mistakes. Those are a lot rarer these days.
