t's amazing how this is from more than 20 years ago but very well could have been from today.

Oh that makes me extremely sad. Turns out the bigger DIY HRT server I spied on Disboard is also a transmedicalist space. Which means all the most popular HRT spaces publicly viewable are transmed.

Damn...

It's such a bleak outlook and a way to live your life and a way to police your spaces and a way to find community. The spaces feel so hostile, when queer spaces should be uplifting and accepting as a general rule.

I think, anyway. And I hope to find. And I hope to encourage those spaces and views.

I would be Mildly welcome in these spaces for being a binary trans woman now, but I used to be non-binary, I used to think I was a femboy, I used to go by she/they/he pronouns. And though I doubt it for now, I could still possibly change how I feel about myself and my identity in the future.

It's so incongruous with how I look at human experience and sexuality in general. Everything is shades of black/white/gray. A spectrum. Sometimes ever changing.

There's no one way everyone experiences gender or sexuality, or comes to the same conclusions at the same times. It's far more random.

And go through all the steps, HRT, surgeries, and count themselves as trans to the end of their days.

I bet lots of transmeds end up infighting a lot, ousting people, because of just how strict The Rules are. Even for very, Very trans people don't tick all these boxes perfectly.

Well, I didn't. Or if I did, it's a background pain I couldn't find and no one else could name or find either.

There are so, so many extremely trans people who find out they're trans in adulthood or late adulthood.

"You MUST want to undergo HRT" Well there's lots of pros and cons so-
"You MUST want a sex change operation" Ay-fucking-yoooooooooooo??????? That's awfully specific and can cause a lot of pain if people Can't.
"Non-binary people are not allowed/not actually trans" :/
That especially is just bigotry.

"You must experience gender dysphoria to be trans" Well, for myself that's true, I experience dysphoria. And for most trans people I know. But I think dysphoria is very fickle and can be hard to self evaluate for and extract those exact feelings with that exact language 100% of the time. Complicated

It's comforting though just how low the numbers are anywhere I look. These people are in the vast, vast minority.

HRT4ALL is just kinda specifically insidious to me. Because A) You do not actually support All and B) People finding that as their first taste of trans culture could be disastrous.

The vibes are absolutely rancid. Hilariously so.
