28.01.2026 02:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Man HDM TV show really did nail the ending so well. I have qualms about other minor things along the way, but overall it was quite a good adaptation, and importantly absolutely stuck the landing at the end in a completely faithful way in relation to the books.

He is one of at least 237 journalists who have been assassinated over the last two years. If we are silent now, we are saying that thatโs okay.

19.05.2025 19:03 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Mindy Klasky Today's publishing frustration: Readers are giving books 1-star reviews if those books were created using Vellum, alleging that Vellum is Al. (It isn't -- read on for more information about what Vellum is.) Vellum is a text-formatting program that takes word processing files and turns them into pretty books, creating files for both ebooks and print books, which authors then upload at vendors like Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Google, and Kobo. Vellum is an invaluable tool, and I would not have my publishing career without it. But it does not write my books in any way, shape, or form. It does not use Al in any capacity. Please do not one-star books that rely on Vellum for formatting. You're only hurting legitimate authors who rely on a legitimate tool to create books for you.
(Edited to add, because people seem to think I'm unfamiliar with Vellum's options -- it *is* possible to delete the attribution to Vellum in an author's manuscripts. I prefer this deletion in my own books. But other authors are being targeted because they left the attribution in -- either because they didn't know they could delete it or because they're grateful to Vellum for developing a strong tool, and they want Vellum's user base to grow.) Edited one more time to add that Vellum has responded with incredible speed, and they're changing their wording, in a way that will hopefully calm the troubled waters. (Yeah, I don't believe it will, either. But I'm very impressed by Vellum's rapid response.)
Vellum Coming later this week: we'll be revising "Created with Vellum" to read "Formatted with Vellum." While we've used "Created with Vellum" for over twelve years, we understand that it can be read differently today, especially in light of fears about Al. We hope that, with this change, readers better understand how you've used Vellum. Note: This will be a change in wording only! So if you've already turned this option off, you won't have to turn it off again.
Most of our authors use Vellum to format their books and the majority of them leave the "Created with Vellum" line on their copyright page because they believe in attribution. This post by @mindyklasky.bsky.social explains what this means.
