Lough Neagh is the largest freshwater lake in the UK supplying 40% of Northern Irelandโ€™s drinking water.

In 2023, the Lough experienced a severe blue-green algal bloom, highlighting urgent environmental and public health concerns. In 2024 the Lough Neagh report and action plan was commissioned.
