I didn't say people of faith should be excluded from public life. It's this misrepresentation that people always seem to rely on when defending on KF. There are plenty of people of faith in power.

I had that in the past when I used to get bouts of severe pain (stopped when I stopped eating meat) and it never helped. GP did prescribe something else which I can't remember now but it didn't seem to have an effect either.

She literally said she would have voted against equal marriage had she had the chance. HY story is a conspiracy theory and also - we're not talking about him and he's no longer a government minister so not sure what you think referring to him (or Swinney) is a counter argument.

I don't recall either of them saying they would vote against people's rights because of their own religion. I'm not anti-christian - I'm against people in power using their religion to justify denying other people's rights.

I don't care if it's 'taught to believe'. Anyone who thinks others deserve less rights than them because of their own religious beliefs should not be in positions of power. That's not balance.

I find it insulting that someone would think balance means putting someone in power who thinks I don't deserve the right to marry the person I love because I'm different to her.

Imagine being John Swinney, or any other Scottish government minister, having stood by the appointment of a bigot knowing how much hurt it caused their LGBT+ and progressive ally constituents, only for her to step down shortly after.

Did this polarising appointment achieve anything in the end?

This is important.

Everything has been turned on its head, including the Equality Act (2010), the spirit of which was to protect against discrimination but a generation of ill-informed people think it's all about who is allowed in what spaces.

What our press has done to trans people is comparable with what Nazi-controlled press did to Jews. A group of people have been relentlessly demonised at the behest of some ultra rich people and now they're gleefully documenting every chip away at acceptance and inclusion.

It angers me that trans youth have been driven to (minor) criminal acts to make their voices heard. It didn't have to be like this. Streeting and Starmer's government have alienated a generation of LGBT+ people and it won't be forgotten. I hope they never have another day of peace in their lives.

But, obviously because of the judge's reliance on For Women Scotland, the claim still had to be dismissed. We are reflecting on the judgment and our next steps which will include whether or not we appeal."

Basically, the court would have supported a trans woman if it weren’t for the mandate from the highest court that it was now okay to hurt trans women.
