If Finland loses this game, Sarros is going to beat his defenseman with a brick

I imagine they just don't want to set the precedent that would allow a dem president to set a tax unilaterally.

With "(lower)" written out super small between "so" and "back"

They've been signalling this for a bit. It was pretty clear they were gonna lose this fight because the courts didn't want to set this particular precedent but they are clearly happy to slow walk for Trump.

I imagine they wouldn't bother. They'll just say "ok cool. Those tariffs are off but we're replacing them with these other tariffs based on this different made up precedent." And let that work it's way through the courts again.

I get it as a job specific item like that. I saw someone fumbling with one on the street card, trying to pull a presto pass and I was just like why???

I respect that

They hardly hold cards. Legit, I would rather just have a rubber band for all my shit than a ridge wallet.

20.02.2026 02:44 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Why would anyone want their wallet to be ridged and sharp in their pocket. Makes no sense.

20.02.2026 02:41 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Ridge wallets are such junk

Thou shalt not mog with thy neighbour's frat president.

Wait till you get to the Czech coach's comments about the game lol

A bunch of them look like barf

May as well try the soda milk now. Can't be worse than crotch coffee.

It's hard to gauge what his true ambitions are because he clearly hates PP's guts so it can be complicated to parse his commentary on Carney/the libs. Tough to say if he is actually happy to work with a liberal federal power forever or if he's just trying to make Pierre mad.

18.02.2026 18:22 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I think Carney has been fluctuating between underwhelming and bad on national policy but has been better than most of his peers on international relations.

18.02.2026 18:19 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yes but there is no credible PP successor and if he loses again, the party will want blood. Kenney probably pulls support in that scenario. Maybe Ford though I'm not that sure he wants the job since it pulls him farther away from the actual job he wants, mayor of Toronto.

18.02.2026 18:16 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Carney isn't a whole lot left of O'Toole. Probably a little bit they are much closer to each other than PP is to either of them.

18.02.2026 18:14 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Feel like Kenney is gonna make a play for Con leadership if Carney wins a majority in a snap election and PP gets turfed. Trying to present himself as a compromise option. Western Canadian friendly but not insane.

These shouldn't be words. It's wrong that these are words.

18.02.2026 14:58 β€” πŸ‘ 16    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah I was forgetting about the critical story beats in Hardhome. That one is good. Battle of the Bastards I think is the most overrated episode imo. They sacrificed story logic in service of a huge (admittedly cool) battle scene and fan service imo.

18.02.2026 12:16 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah people love both of those. Especially bastards. I thought it was fine. Propped up by a good fight scene but it felt fan servicey. I'm probably understating Hardhome. It's pretty good as I think back on it.

18.02.2026 04:24 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I'd personally rank them in the mid range. Hardhome maybe a bit above average.

18.02.2026 04:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It's not part of the fall off but the positive reception of those episodes made the showrunners learn the wrong lessons and they ended up chasing big set pieces over story from them on.

18.02.2026 04:07 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah this kind of shit needs to get regulated ASAP.

17.02.2026 20:17 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yup. That's where the bubble will be. So much investment dependent on AI becoming everything to everyone. Which it obviously isn't and won't be. They'll put us into a massive recession figuring that out, I expect. Then it will settle in as being useful for some things and not for others.

17.02.2026 20:09 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

For sure. I think, in the end, chatbots just become fancy search. They'll get filled with ads like Google search did. Some of the video gen AI stuff looks like it will almost certainly have an impact on the movie industry. I don't foresee full movies being AI produced, but fight scenes, effects, etc

17.02.2026 19:58 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Part of that regulation could and should be what can and can't be used to train AI.

17.02.2026 19:44 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Generally tech innovation charges the kind of jobs that exist but ultimately increases the total number of jobs in the long term due to the creation of new markets, new products, new demands. The thing is though that we need to regulate now before it's so big that we don't even know where to start.

17.02.2026 19:43 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

I think the cost of doing it will come down pretty drastically, especially if regulation comes in that caps power usage and things of that nature. I'm a little less doomer also about the long term impact on jobs. 1/2
