I hate the word "talented." It's an empty idea that obscures effort. I prefer to think some people are born with a "knack." A brain with a knack adapts to certain skillsets faster, but without dedication, knack falters. Many are born with more passion than knack, and passion succeeds every time.

Costume Quest means a lot to me personally and helped kickstart my love for halloween, i always love whenever i revisit it. im not an rpg guy but this game is just something special, man.
really hoping for a switch collection at some point that would be awesome.

not neccesarily meaning nostalgia, just that they have the past experience and so already know the levels and can play them better

not playing it as much probably contributes. given youre meant to familiarize yourself more as you play more and more i think having more experience when younger would definitely assist that. i think thats a big reason why people who grew up with sa1 still love it.

i do like that i was able to make a genuine argument and someone responded sensibly that was nice

and... well, really, "gotta go fast" wasnt really the point of sonic... that was really just what american marketing turned it into. it wasnt meant to be a game where youre constantly going fast, you have to learn and earn it.

well, yeah. sonic is meant to be a game you learn and relearn. the entire idea from it came from learning to speedrun mario levels. so the whole idea of it is... basically being a speedrunner.
its not a concept for everyone for sure, but that is definitely the point.

thats not even to say its not a valid criticism to have. theres definitely something to be said about a games punishment for not being skilled being frustration. just... its kind of a throughline in the whole sonic series. i feel like if you say that about one it kind of applies to most of them.

well its sort of the same with 2d sonic. youre intended to replay and learn the levels so you can get really good at them.

im not sure what you expect from a modern console fresh from launch? modern games are so expensive to make that it makes sense the releases are slow. the switch 1 was just as if not even slower at its launch.
