well off the top of my head the -kun suffix is a japanese reading of the sinitic character 君 (pronounced in modern mandarin as jun, first tone); i don’t know about thai pronoun khun but i highly suspect that, if it is not descended from some form of proto-thai, it comes from either pali or sanskrit
