Yeah, I tried that a bit. Like a limited cloth simulation in form of a sculpting brush. It is an interesting concept and I think it can be quite powerful, giving a lot of control.
But I think I would have to spend way more time with it to start getting the hang of it.

I tried hand sculpting, but the cloth simulator does a better/more realistic job than me 😬
So I usually start with that and then just to touch ups by hand where it messed up.

In short, I model the suit around her in an A-pose, then create a short animation that moves her body from the A-pose into the desired end-pose, and then put a cloth simulation on the suit and let it follow her body. The wrinkles then occur "naturally" from the movement.

Redone an older render in much higher resolution, because I needed it as a prop for something else.

They are also intentionally conflating machine-learning and generative AI slop to confuse and try to make GenAI seem necessary. Google Maps traffic stuff is machine learning, not GenAI, for example. Auto-correct is too. Don't let them make you lose the thread. GenAI slop is slop.

Usually yes. You can just add new bones to an existing rig and then weight paint for the new bones. It get's more complicated if you want to use automated weights and/or create more complicated rigs with inverse kinematics and such.

I wanted to give my character models an update anyway (there is some compatibility issues with Blender 4.2 and I haven't made the switch yet) so I'm gonna give CharMorph a look if that works better in my workflow. Thanks for the tip.

I do often start with some HDRi lighting (especially if you use a lot of reflective materials like I do it helps with showing off the "shine") and a more or less classic three point light setup using area lights.
And then I often add more lights to get more highlights on specific places, etc.

I started with models from a tool called MakeHuman. It let's you create customized models from a base mesh and also does some basic rigging for you.
By now I updated their base mesh a bit (which I further modify for each new character) and use my own modified Rigify rigging.

There’s a free application, shutup10++, that lets you disable all the shitty windows stuff with a series of checkboxes.
It even tracks if windows rolls anything back between updates and lets you reverse the changes with a click.
I can personally recommend shutup10++ if you need to stick with windows
