If all cards in the deck and in all hands are played, then you win!

However, if any player is ever unable to play any cards from their hand, the game is immediately lost.

We do give you a little bit of help in the form of discard tokens! At anytime on their turn, a player may choose to spend 1 of the 3 the group starts out with to discard any 1 number card (but no Beasts!)

One catch—your communication with your teammates is limited. You can't show your hand or discuss any specifics like numbers, only suits.

Here are examples of things you *can* say:
🗣️ "We should all play our Diamonds cards"
🎙️ "Clear the 1s place"
🗨️ "I can/must play high/low/mid here"

Once the Beasts enter play, things get trickier. These cards are played above the board and block their suits from being played in whichever slot it's in.

They can also be startled into new positions, creating cascading chaos.

You'll be playing cards to a shared "board" to build a 3-digit number. On your turn, pick 1 of the 8 suits and play all cards of that suit from your hand.

Here's the rule: cards must be played one at a time, and each new number that you make must be higher than the previous!

And that was just the base game—you have the option to add Tricky Rules, an optional deck of wild modifiers that change the game each round.

Then the round begins! One player leads a trick and everyone else must follow suit if possible. The highest number in the lead suit wins the trick & earns the leftmost point token in the row.

Note that the point tokens have different values based on the suit of the winning card!

At its core, Tricky Kids is a three-round, must-follow trick-taking game. Each player starts by receiving 9 cards, and here’s where it gets… well, tricky.

Players choose 2 cards to discard and write numbers on the remaining 7 cards, so the total adds up to exactly 21.

Welcome to the playground, where you kids meet up to trade your toys and snacks! Because you don't actually know how much any of this stuff costs in adult money, you just make up the values of your items as you go along.

Next stop on the road to Gen Con: a clever, chaotic trick-taking game where you write your own numbers on your cards!
