Lol -- l guess l do claim laziness. After editing history books all day the last thing l want to do when l get home is pore through another dry document. There are plenty of reliable sources I've turned to for the basics of it. It's screechingly obvious what the plan is.

That's a pretty good one! There are so many interpretations out there. I lean towards the historians. I'm trained to have a knee-jerk, consider-the-source reaction to these things, so l like to poke around different analyses.

Timothy Snyder, l think, is a trustworthy source if you're interested.
