I am begging literally anyone to make a viable alternative to substance painter

this kind of stuff was derailing my work so much for a while that they had to create a special billable time category for me that costs extra. ultimately it didn’t really stop people from escalating stuff to me

Yeah, I think if somebody said the bottom one to me I would feel an overwhelming amount of pressure to drop everything to go to the thing, and would feel awful if I couldn’t make it work

while we’re on the Fortnite topic, I grew up in the area where Epic’s HQ is. Epic does not treat its employees well. It’s a boy’s club, POC employees join and then leave, and it’s not the best if you’re queer either. And don’t even get me started on the crunch culture. Don’t support Fortnite.

It can be a comforting watch if your childhood wasn’t the best. The show is really good at showing healthy parenting. I know quite a few adults who have sobbed watching it

I really wish more horror games had safe modes like that. I really struggle with jumpscares and I kinda resigned myself to just watching let’s plays and streams of horror stuff so I could have a bit more control over the experience

That way folks aren't hit with content that might hurt them unexpectedly, help is still available, and nobody feels like their expression is restricted. Instead of "you can't say this", it's "let's move this over to peer support". It's not a perfect solution, but it's the best balance I've found.

I've run multiple large queer communities over the years, and honestly I think the best approach is mixed. Have readily available spaces that are dedicated to peer support, and have resources for access to professional help readily available for people to hand out if things get too heavy (1/2)

Absolutely. Before the pandemic my work opened a new section of the office where they opted to go for open ceilings and concrete floors. I could never stand being in there for longer than a few minutes at a time.
