This was such a horrific death and for another publication (elsewhere) to publish an article about a dead scrambler rider who willingly jumped on a death-trap ramming himself into a pillar, sorry, read the room and do one.

With the vileness of social media platforms, peeps are returning to LinkedIn, using it like Facebook wall of old. Makes sense; most of us had a LinkedIn page sitting dusty, sIlently observing. It's a chance to bring back cohesiveness, have the chats. Add me if you see me. No Hitchcock screams there.

Free event! Claire Carroll, Saoirse Exton & Ariel Saramandi, join editor Lisa McInerney and publisher Declan Meade to discuss work. The non-fiction blew me away (no pun) and it's good to engage with other writers on how best to approach these #ClimateCrisis concerns. us02web.zoom.us/meeting/regi...

Who's secretly filming fake TikToks inside Londoners' homes? We tracked down the viral video account invading people's houses to spread false claims about immigrants.

This is an *exceptional* piece of work, and ought to be borne in mind when looking at literally any online ragebait in future.

A TikTok account that professed to be highlighting how 'illegal immigrants get free housing in London' was… well, not that at all.

Early dinner of Celeriac Steaks in a CafΓ© de Paris Sauce with Watercress & Rocket Salad. This recipe is from #FitGreenMind online and is #vegan, though it can be #bastardised into #vegetarian too, depending on how you swing.

It was gas crack, so many lovely people, relaxed atmos but loads going on (to do/see/attend), gorgeous location and we were spoilt. Went for little wave-watching drives most days too, stunning coastline. There's just no other writer's festival like it!

I've said it before - yes, I'm monomaniacal - but this recipe for Patatas Bravas is horny devil fare. So horny we eat it as a dinner on its tod. Thick sweet & smoky paprika sauce on crispy oven-baked spuds, toasted cumin seeds, garlicky tomato pulp & yoghurt πŸ˜‹

It's the first recipe listed here, I replaced spuds with leeks and it worked well: www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

It really worked, t'was part-recipe, part fridge leftovers. I'm obsessed with baby turnips though πŸ˜‹ and they seem to have them in Dunnes all the time. The dressing was fab.

More zany combinations of #Veg: a roasting tin of quartered baby turnips, chopped leek, garlic, fennel & caraway seeds, salt, harissa, orange peel, olive oil. Roast for 40, stirring every 15. Layer with watercress and dressing of toasted/crushed fennel seeds, orange & lemon juice, s&p, e/virgin oil.

Rafael Mendes & Aisling Walsh on representation and ethics in writing. Is being close to, enough? How do you write about identities, sexualities, lived experience that are not your own? Where are the lines drawn for/at appropriation against a canon that were 'writers' without an added 'other' label?

Crazy display of [free] food here for #SundayMass at the utterly brilliant #DoolinWritersWeekend The programme is 100% kickass this year, trying my best to get to as much as I can before collapsing into bed every night. Feels like part freaky wedding, part fab festival.

The interview/chat with Roddy Doyle & Elizabeth Reapy was so chill and enthralling. Roddy is so down to earth and sensible, but his honesty is unusual in this lit-climate. He laughed at a terrible review of his first book, spoke about writing as 'labour' and dissed too much editorial interference.

Fleet scoops SΓ©amas O’Reilly’s debut novel Fleet has scooped the debut novel from ObserverΒ columnist and author of the memoirΒ Did Ye Hear Mammy Died?, SΓ©amas O’Reilly.

I have been scooped! The very exciting news is that my first novel, Prestige Drama, is preened and prepped and will be coming out in May.

I'm biased but I think it's really good and you should buy it.
