The other issue I've run into is equivalent value. It seems to work fine if you have a product or service with 1) set price and scope, 2) short turnaround; and less fine for custom work that may run into scope creep. Which is a big chunk of what I do. So I approach with caution. 😁

That usually seems to be why people propose barter: lack of cash flow. But that means that if push comes to shove, the project that isn't paying the bills understandably gets sidelined. It really becomes a problem when you're talking about thousands of dollars' worth of services!

Who here loves (or hates) to barter services? I'm doing it now for the first time in years and I have SO MANY FEELINGS. 🤣
