As Tesla moves away from promising unsupervised self-driving in consumer vehicles, I've been working on a model to try to determine Tesla's potential liability for the false promise on millions of cars.

Tesla delivery estimates for the full year have dropped since my last post below. The latest:

• My Estimate: Below 1.68M units
• Analyst Consensus: 1.90M
• Tesla's Target: 1.79M

A year ago today, my 2024 estimate was 111,000 and analyst consensus 280,000 higher than what actually happened in 2024.

i am afraid Triy has a conservetive estimate. it will be more like more than 10% drop. 2nd hand Tesla market is spooled w trade-ins. it will increase the pressure on lease prices and customer choices. $tsla

Last year, Tesla's sales fell by 5.6% in the US and 10.7% in Europe, while sales in China grew by 7.9%. This year, sales are expected to decline even more in the US and Europe. So, the Chinese market is crucial, but with only 2–4 weeks of wait time for new Model Y orders, demand in China seems weak.

if q1 remains such low value, even hitting 80K s in remaining quarters will lead to 260-290K.
