Oh my god. Not 8 months. Almost a full year. 😂 Well I did start cancer treatments shortly after that. So I have a good excuse.

I've had an email in my drafts folder for about 8 months after an HOA episode where you and @patrickklepek.bsky.social talked about contractors and permits. We were turning our screened in porch into a sun room. I realize now it's so out of date I should just write a new one.

I let my Game Pass Ultimate expire over the summer and started playing exclusively on my PS5 Pro. I haven’t turned on my Series X in months.

Yeah that’s exactly what it does. In Xenoblade, the middle options in the battle menu are up or down. I’m often clicking left or right and when passing by those it often goes up or down, totally disrupting the flow of combat. It’s frustrating. I may have to switch to Joy Cons for those games.

Anyone else notice how horrible the D pad is in certain games? I finally dove into Xenoblade Chronicles (the Definitive Edition) and the D pad for menu stuff during battles is a nightmare.

Weirdly I took my first date to that movie. I was 15. No idea why we picked that though.

I was living vicariously through my oldest. He’s been hot and cold on Silksong (which is why I haven’t started it but also Cronos and Hell Is Us). But he’s now “locked in” and got to Act 2 (?) so I think he likes it. Until he hates it again. That sounds about right.

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath. 😂 I'll just finish up Cronos (which I'm digging!) and maybe do Hell Is Us next.

I keep thinking of all the fast travel complaints you and @patrickklepek.bsky.social had about Prince of Persia. And how they patched in a few more. Sounds like Silksong needs more benches.

My oldest has been playing Silksong though. And for every "This was so cool", there is a "I hate this game" that usually follows. Sometimes involving an unfair boss, but usually due to the horrific run backs.

I haven't played Silksong yet but I played enough of Hollow Knight to feel that frustration with the run backs. It reminds me of some of the absolute worst boss runs in the Souls games. When they don't put a bonfire nearby, every attempt is a slog. I'm glad FromSoft mostly moved away from that.

It sucks that we can’t just make the decision ourselves, but the healthcare workers I’ve dealt with are all very helpful and want to help us find ways to get the vaccines we need to protect ourselves. That’s something at least.

I talked to the nurse at my CVS clinic about my family since I’m fighting cancer, and what options they had. She was SUPER helpful and found that there is a code for “contact with immunocompromised individuals”. She needed to verify that we could use that but it may be an option for some folks.

I’m nearing the end and have really enjoyed it so far!

I wasn’t interested at first, but once I saw it in motion and the art book style, I kind of want it now.
