It feels like there are a significant number of fairly big bands and artists a good 5+ albums into their careers who in the Before Times would have by now released a Best Of LP, who just haven't.

I was pondering the status of the Best Of recently Pete. With many / most bands' outputs available in one place, where folk can create their own playlists and therefore their own 'best of', what function does an official Best Of now serve? Is it purely for those who crave the physical object?

I ended up with a copy of their follow-up to Jump, which was called Warm It Up. It was... tepid. The joys of getting lumped with a bunch of promo singles as 'prizes' for winning rounds on the Radio Gloucestershire Schools Quiz...

I'm thinking there's a subscription model here maybe, where we can pay a monthly fee to make terfs feel really uncomfortable. How much does it cost? Do we get to pick which ones?
