Dotti and I have been catching up on #horror movies neither of us has seen before. We're going by decade. The 90's were fucking rough.

Finally saw "The Wicker Man" (1973), a movie I have read about to some extent and no one once wrote about how much singing they do in it. It's a horror movie in the 70s so I figured on the nudity, but never once imagined it as a musical.

Roku was advertising at me a movie called Young Dracula and while I'm sure the movie is probably not my thing, it's a decent band name.

I have made several attempts over the years to get into the #CriticalRole community on Reddit, but it is just not a very nice place to be.

Is it too much to ask to find a #D&D game I can join online that runs on a weekday during the work day while my wife is working and I have unstructured time?

I tend to prep on graph paper. Like I can draw a map and make all my necessary notes on there with arrows to the dungeon map. Then I keep an online campaign journal with what happened last session and the loot and current mission goals and all of my players have access to that whenever.

I'm willing to believe upon rewatch that it was asleep or trying to be in some kind of stasis to get to the next place, or that that was the intention.

But it definitely acts less like a biological creature than in Aliens.

Current incarnation of Xenomorph seems aware that it is a movie monster and acts accordingly... In Aliens they seemed to have an instinct and a biology that went beyond "lurk around and kill people, unless the writers don't want that person dead at this time."

Undermind.

I guess calling it The Stroll-er is too on the nose to be funny.

How would this advice affect puzzles, which often have prescribed solutions?

I'm not a big puzzle GM myself, but I know a lot are.

D&D's reliance on environment and terrain for interesting combat feels pretty cumbersome these days. Playing systems that allow for exciting combat inside a flat rectangle feels like where I want to be as far as map making prep. I just spend so much time drawing battlefields for D&D.

Mechanical pacing of Daggerheart seems to be much faster than equivalent scenes in D&D. GMs used to prepping D&D might have to prep more content to fill the same amount of time. Blessing or curse?

I employ a few people seasonally and part of their orientation is "There are chairs. Use the chairs. I know people tell you to stand the whole time at other jobs but I have no idea how that benefits the business at all so do what you want."

Running Mothership for the first time tonight. Not my first horror game, but I am definitely excited and nervous to run these poor players through my brain's version of "scary".

Yesterday I saw an orangutan at the Ft Worth Zoo throw a rock at a group of guests. I am unsure of its intentions obviously, but it was interesting to see it happen. Afterwards, the orangutan seemed to be gesturing to my wife to get her to give the rock back, so it could have been a play behavior.
