There's also a massive shortage of workforce and affordable housing on SJI that is exacerbated by reduced ferry service to bring materials and laborers from mainland. Reliable, consistent ferry service is critical for island residents and essential workers to access just about everything

3. Nudibranchs! This is a photo I took of a hooded nudibranch (melibe leonina) while swimming in Puget Sound. There are 3,000 species and they're all adorable! 🤗 So far I've seen 7 species (only 2,993 to go) #sendnudis

Creativity is like a houseplant, not an endless well. You need to seek out sunlight, water, and nutrients in art, shows, music, experiences, and more to tend to it. And just like plants it has its dormant and active periods and you may not seem improvement for some time.

That's exactly how I feel about open water swimming: equal parts terrifying and magical 🌊🧜🏻‍♀️ Can't wait to see what you create next! 😍

I think it's important to remember that standards for "good writing" and "proper grammar" are rooted in white supremacy. Let's read and review written works by QTBIPOC/disabled authors, and use metrics like, "How did this expose me to ideas/cultures unlike my own?" to uplift diverse voices!

It takes time to look up who owns what, and to find alternatives for the things you need/want. Time and privilege are closely aligned; not everyone can easily do this. But the more we can, the better! 🖤🤎🏳️‍🌈

Today is MLK Day of Service. I'm volunteering to help endangered orcas by restoring salmon habitat. We remove invasive plants and plant native trees at a public park that used to be a golf course. "The time is always right to do what is right." 🌱🌲🏞️
