impressive) fight choreography (and arguably other elements) becomes quite rote or repetitive (maybe true of many movie series but I really got a chance to notice it with Wick when I once rewatched 3 of them in 3 nights with in-laws).

My favorite description is roughly "they hired stuntmen as directors and accidentally also got great worldbuilders with sumptuous visual aesthetics".

so, yeah, def worth watching the first one.

and then arguably the other three BUT do *not* watch them back to back to back; the (otherwise very

Yeah sounds like that show (and the 2015 one) were inspired by the book. Unless they predate 1982, in which case it could be a coincidence or indeed King got the idea there.

Word. It was the only one I could find that matched your description. I'm sure it's good fun!

Was just gently pushing back on the idea that this film is something other than an adaptation of the novel for which it is named.

Let me know if you find the show you were talking about, as I am curious!

Schwarzenegger film basically doesn't come into play here. (I mentioned since it had already come up but clearly doesn't play in the fairly straightforward "Edgar Wright adapted more-faithfully a 43 year old Stephen King novel, not a 10 year old British show that probably also was inspired by same.)

Yeah, I'm familiar with the phenomenon.

What I'm saying is that the 2015 reality show Hunted, that you seem to be referring to, is more likely to be inspired by the original Running Man novel than to serve as the inspiration for the new movie that closely follows the 43 year old book.

The

The new Running Man is named after the book by Stephen King (that it is an adaptation of) that predates the show you are talking about.

The Schwarzenegger film was basically “Running Man in name only” and had very little to do with the source material, unlike apparently the new movie.

Star Wars for Babies was the other excellent instrument for gently introducing my young daughter to universes we love.

They are no Bluey in terms of “worth watching for the adults present” nor quite as directly educational as Alphablocks or Daniel Tiger, but the lessons in them are unimpeachably

(open world AAA being my fav type) so lol, like an hour or two of fucking it up early on is generally forgotten after 100 hours.

if i rotated between games, i presume i would go insane.

relatedly: B or O should always be the default dodge, damnit! A and X for jump. thank god for remapping.

oh god yeah "x" (the letter) vs "cross" (i believe is the official term, right?) being in diff places

i think i end up adjusting quickly enough that it's not too big a deal. might also be because i tend to play one game at a time and they tend to be big long fuckers

i feel like xbox/pc and playstation are basically the same?

but yeah switch is its own whole deal (which i only used for the two big zelda games and i *think* i might have remapped a couple keys)

lol, love it; Cork fan *and* a Bills fan!

no wonder we get along (although Revan the character is more important to me than prob any sports team).

(keeping in mind, my Cork fandom is just from spending summers there; never seen a game. but i'm from Rochester, NY and grew up rooting for the Bills)

So yeah, let’s encourage the wisdom/humor of the masses to go to town till the town is razed; we will definitely get more great bits on the way than we would if we were all aloof and cool about it and didn’t let ourselves riff with abandon.

I want to riff on this idea but instead i’ll take the comedy theory seriously (which of course itself is the death of comedy, in the moment at least):

“beating a joke to death” is arguably “yes and’ing it until it yields no more fruit” (and if one thinks you’ve overshot said fruit-pursuit, it is a
