Cheers to Alisha on a hugely successful first CNS. And thanks to the community for such a warm and enthusiastic welcome for this substance use work. #cns2025

The group is primarily people who do human neuroimaring with psychology, neuroscience, political science, & anthropology backgrounds. Thx!
04.01.2025 02:13 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1Happy New Year! The asshole rooster is causing trouble so weโre starting the year off trying to get chicken bibs onto our rarely handled chickens. Unsurprisingly, itโs going very poorly. An hour and a half in, exactly 3 hens are dressed.

13.11.2024 03:03 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I think nothing? MPRAGE seems to be the main concern. I should be clear, this is an irb thing, not a center thing. The center knows this is not preferable to really anyone.
15.02.2024 17:52 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0We talked about maybe exporting the info into json or something. I think that could be managed, but not optimal for sure.
15.02.2024 17:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yes. This is the other part of the conversation. Right now, labs archive their own data, if it becomes centralized there are access/infrastructure/$ questions. Iโm also not sure the folks driving this proposal know about dicom headers, but they are definitely worried about facial reconstruction.
15.02.2024 16:48 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0๐ฏ thank you. There are so many reasons why this could be an issue, specially with special populations with atypical anatomy. Weโre making the theoretical case, but also want to be able to say AND these xx institutions all give raw dicoms to researchers. Thanks for the response!
15.02.2024 14:44 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0To me, this seems generally problematic, but also really just not done widely or at all. Iโve talked to lots of you, but hoping to get a wider sample to find out what centers are doing more broadly. Thanks!
15.02.2024 12:57 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Question for the neuroimagers out there: Does your center provided you with the raw dicoms after a scan?
A policy change is being considering over here where research groups would only be given defaced niftis, not raw dicoms. 1/2

And while Iโm advertising things: I am recruiting 1-2 grad students this cycle! Please spread the word to your enthusiastic students excited about memory and itโs disorders. In the lab we study the human memory system applied to aging, TBI, sex hormones, and (newly) methamphetamine use disorder.
