They are not odd to you, and that's what matters. You found what inspired you and then eventually developed your own characters over time. That's what got me drawing. I developed a character and had to force myself to learn how to draw so that I can make the visuals.

Agree 100%. I'm 47 and enjoy rewatching my Smurfs episodes on Saturday mornings and having Smurfs plushies. It gives me strong nostalgic vibes to a simpler time when I was a young boy in the 80s. Great memories and great times. Feeling some of that magic again is like a drug. No shame.

This was my main cartoon obsession growing up. I started watching Smurfs in 1981 when I was 3 years old. My very earliest Saturday morning cartoon memories was watching the Smurfs that very first season. Great cartoon to grow up to. I now rewatch them on Saturday mornings. Very nostalgic.
