I agree with Peyo. The Smurfs should remain timeless with the classical music track. A laugh track would have ruined the Smurfs. It worked for Flintstones, but not Smurfs.

Oh wow, yeah. I remember when it was rerun on Fox Family and watching some episodes in 1999. I used to watch it when it originally aired. It is part of my late 80s and early 90s Saturday morning nostalgia. Great time to be a kid for Saturday morning.

Chicky Baby, Cool Cat, and Dirty Dog are the names if I remember correctly. Wow, this is such a familiar sight to my childhood. I loved Pee Wee’s Playhouse. Such nostalgia. Your cartoon version of the puppets are amazing. It looks like a Saturday morning cartoon. Great work. 🤩

Unfortunately it seems to be the sign of the times with cartoons and animation. Somewhere in the 90s (I like to blame Spumko and Ren and Stimpy) cartoons and animation took a turn that lead to this. That is why I will always gravitate towards the older stuff.

I just watched the episode “The Day They Fixed Junior Wetworth”. Great episode. Never seen it because I missed seasons 3 and 4 when they originally aired. I never knew it went to syndication when it left Saturday mornings.

I do not understand the complaints with the "bean mouth" shapes with today's cartoons. I do not like today's cartoon styles, HOWEVER, "bean mouths" have always existed since the "rubber hose" style of cartoons since the 1930s. So I do not really see this as a valid argument. 🤷‍♂️
