My biggest flaw as a developer is starting to code before sitting down and writing out exactly how it needs to work from the user perspective. My second biggest flaw is not regularly updating the document when I do think of writing it down. Working on it.

I think AI has gotten better for simple coding tasks and noticeably worse for more complex tasks, so much worse that I don't even use it any more unless it's for something simple I have forgotten, like how to code a radio button in each HTML and attach an anonymous function to the choice

Why senior developers never write "clever" code.

Clever code is hard to read.

Hard to debug.

Impossible to maintain.

Your goal isn't to look smart. It's to write simple, boring code that just works.

True. There's so much available for teachers from the Library of Congress, and I think it's a source that doesn't always jump to mind for lessons or PD (often free) but it should.
