House Bill 4, aka the rigged redistricting map, heads to the Senate this week, proving this special session isn’t about Texans, it’s about politicians clinging to power.

This comes after Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and Speaker Dustin Burrows told flood victims' families they would prioritize flood response ‘above all else’ in the second special session

Despite Texans loudly opposing the first redistricting map, Abbott and his allies scrapped it and unveiled a new one, just as heinous, and rammed it through the House without giving the public any chance to weigh in.

‼️Breaking: The Texas House passes a racially gerrymandered congressional map designed to silence Black and Brown Texans and cement power for Trump-aligned extremists.

This bill now heads to the Senate and inches dangerously closer to Gov. Greg Abbott’s desk to be signed into law.

With Democrats’ walkout over, Texas House begins debate on controversial redistricting bill today On Wednesday, the Texas House will finally debate a new map for the state’s congressional districts that could give Republicans as many as five additional seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Fierce debate is expected over the legislation, which led Texas House Democrats to leave the state earlier this month, bringing the House to a standstill.

If passed by the House today, the legislation attached to the map will still need one more procedural vote before proceeding to the Senate.
