One of my favorite conversations with a coworker was how their very Catholic, very 🇵🇷 abuela would insist up and down that she did not do magic or Santeria but also threw a pumpkin in a river to curse grandpa when he cheated on her.

I understand why ATRs have historically hid behind Catholic imagery as a means of survival, but I would be lying if I said that I didn't really appreciate and genuinely like using the saints alongside the spirits.
