I'm not anti-American. Far from it.

But I'm puzzled as to why there is such a disproportionately large number of American contributors, guests, hosts, etc. on R4 (not including news coverage).

I'm literally more likely to see US domestic news on the website than I am anything about, say, Wales.

Gilligan? Eh?

I meant to say Robinson.

I can barely turn Radio 4 on these days without an American talking to me.

I didn't stick around long enough to find out, Mial.

Briefly heard Gilligan and was reminded why I don't listen anymore.

Inadvertently turn on #R4Today. American berating Starmer.

Turn over to #5Live. American on American football.

Back to #R4. American discussing Superbowl half-time entertainment.

BBC News website. Superbowl 3rd item after Starmer and Jimmy Lai.

BBC America. All day. Every day. All the time.

Doing it is the best way to learn πŸ™‚

To be fair, that book is really good in terms of method and process. I do need an idiot proof process and it worked!

And that lemon curd? So simple but so much more beautiful than the chemical gloop in the shops.

Does the recipie use the softened sliced peel or just the fruit?

I think as you get more confidence you can do it without a bain marie.

I always get nervous it'll split so go with the safe way!

It's so easy. Just keep stirring until it thickens at the final stage. Don't let it bubble.

I doubled the ingredients because the quantities in the recipie make a really meagre amount.

A group of hotel housekeepers went on strike for the first time in 40 years.

And won!

Organising works. Trade unions work.

Oh ok.

Interesting. I like grapefruit and I'd assume it would be great for marmalade because of the sharpness.

No. And I love lime. Good shout.

Have you?

Orange and chilli? That sounds lovely. A nice kick with the sharpness.

I've made lemon and ginger today. Tangy. Very tangy. But sweet too of course.

I'm guessing one reason people voted Labour was because they were sick of obsessive, internal Tory party psychodrama.

They didn't actually want more of the same!

Good riddance.

There's a country that needs running.

By not allowing Burnham to stand, Labour have all but just given up on this by election.

In a constituency which would have been theirs for the taking for so long.

Given their unpopularity, that's a pretty incredible position for them to take.
