This is exactly what we have been saying would happen! When you force thousands of federal law enforcement officers to abandon their normal jobs and go after random migrants instead, it's a field day for the actual serious criminals out there doing things like drug trafficking.

What I don't understand is people who aren't interested at all in democracy, don't see the point of it, but then swoon onto a divan when there's a political murder or act of terrorism. Do they get without democracy, that's what "politics" becomes? Power, violence, intimidation, murder, terrorism?

Common sense gun legislation.

It is possible to condemn political violence without venerating objectively bad people who made America worse. Let's try for that.

The MSNBC commentator saying that most political violence has historically come from the left just once again showed how we suffer from failing to learn history. Lynching, pogroms, race riots, the political violence that ended Reconstruction, and against the Civil Rights Movement. Come on.

The problem with allowing guns everywhere is that no one is safe anywhere.

Do not be bullied, cowed, or shamed by bad-faith right-wing actors and MAGA that are blaming "liberals" and everyone who isn't MAGA for Charlie Kirk.

Call them out for their hypocrisy. Go on offense. They are fine with political violence and mass shootings when it's against the rest of us.

For everyone saying political violence has no place in this country…

Remember two Democratic legislators were shot in Minnesota just this year.

And America shrugged and moved on.

You can condemn murder and political violence without whitewashing Charlie Kirk's shameful history of hate, racism, white nationalism and promotion of dangerous conspiracies that radicalized Trump supporters to violence.

You can do both.

Charlie Kirk was a horrible bigot who spewed dangerous conspiracy theories and misled many young people. He marched for Trump’s authoritarian agenda. None of this justifies violence or murder. Political violence only escalates and makes us less safe.

Sadly, we dont have a leader but an arsonist.

Political violence is abhorrent. I have not celebrated Kirk's death.

But Newsom calling for his followers to "continue Charlie Kirk's work," someone who praised stoning gay people as "god's perfect law," who called for men to "take care of" trans people like they did in the 50s and 60s, is not it.

I don’t advocate violence of any kind, political or otherwise, on any side.

I also won’t be gaslit into believing a foul hate-monger was simply a regular guy with different views.
