Allotment Cats

(Amanda - cont...) I could hear him calling my name but I couldn't do anything about it.
Then someone decided to check the garage and I ran straight into the veranda and ate THREE breakfasts!
Betty and Colin had been so worried and they gave me lots of fuss.
I'm never going in that garage again.

You'll never guess what happened to me!
I noticed that the garage door was open so I went in to see what it was like.
Then the door closed and I was locked in.
When Colin came to feed me yesterday he saw that I hadn't eaten my food from the day before and he knew something was wrong.

On Saturday some of the humans had a thing called a 'Coffee Morning'.
About 20 of them sat in the veranda and talked to each other.
They seemed to enjoy it.
I went too, just to see what it was like.
It was ok and some of the humans made a fuss of me but it wasn't really my sort of thing.

If you look closely you can see that one of my eyebrows have disappeared.
I don't kNow what happened, one day it was there and the next day it had gone.
Betty says I'm over-thinking things again.
How would she feel if one of her eyebrows dropped off?

What do you think about these flowers in the Memorial Garden? They don't have that special Nip smell but the humans don't seem to care about that. I suppose it's good that we don't all like the same things.
Betty says I'm getting very wise. Is being wise a good thing?

Betty and Colin's son took this photo of the new cat.
Betty still hasn't seen it but she's been thinking of a name for it.

She likes the name Maurine.
She thinks it doesn't matter if the cat is a boy and she gives it a girl's name.

(Sweet Barbs was a boy and it didn't bother him).

I don't understand why I am so big and Robert is so tiny in this photo.
I've heard that he was actually a bit bigger than me so why is he so small in the photo? Can photos change our size?
Betty told me it's called 'perspective' but I think she was joking. What do you think?

I love sitting in Auntie Rachel's car! It's so clean and tidy - not like Colin's car which looks more like a shed than a car.
The main thing is that it gets him here to the allotments and I don't miss my meals. Betty says he's got his priorities right. Another weird word!

I never met dear Robert but I've heard so much about him. He was friendly with everyone, even total strangers. Not many cats are like that, are they?
Betty says that I'm getting more confident but I've got a long way to go. Go where? I'm happy here and I'm not planning to go anywhere.

I think Betty was quite impressed with my balancing skills.
She told me I was a clever girl and that I should be in a circus.
I haven't got a clue what a circus is but I'm sure she was joking.
She gets some weird ideas sometimes.

I haven't seen the new cat since that day when Colin gave it some breakfast. I know it's still around because I've heard that Amanda and some of the humans have seen it.
At the moment it seems quite shy. Even though I was born at the allotments, I I totally understand what that feels like.

Betty thought it would be nice to have a photo of me on this picnic table. I disagreed.

I usually go along with wherever she wants to take a photo but sometimes I can't be bothered. I think she could share exactly the same photo of me every day and nobody would notice.I'm right, aren't I?

Today it's Red Fred's 🌈anniversary.
He looked after E.T. and helped her to walk. She was disabled and would fall over if he wasn't at her side.
He missed her so much when she went to 🌈and he followed her there only a month later
He will always be missed. R.I.P. sweet boy.

I knew there was a new cat around but I actually saw it yesterday. It didn't try to chase me, thank goodness. I hope it's as kind as Barbs was.

If it decides to move in with us then Betty will have to choose a name for it. That should be fun!

Betty wants me to show you these weird things that Colin grew. I don't think anyone will be interested but I don't want to upset her so I'm showing you anyway.
They're called Sweet Peppers and Colin has picked over a hundred of them.
So funny how humans like eating strange things, isn't it?

Betty said my dream(ies) came true! A very kind follower sent these for Janet and me. Betty often tells us that we have the best followers on twitter .
Some of you send us things and many read and comment about us every day. We feel like we are part of a big family and we love it!

There's a new cat at the allotments! I I saw it near my plot but it seemed scared and it ran off. Then Colin came with my breakfast and the cat came back. It was still scared but it was very hungry. Colin gave it some breakfast too. I wonder if I'll see it again?

I tried out someone else's lap yesterday. I didn't wait to be invited, I just took a chance and did it. Betty said I am getting very confident.
I'm not sure what thatword means. Is being confident a good thing?

Betty often says that I'm like a little watch dog.
I always know when a human walks past the veranda, even before I see them.
I don't do anything, but I let Betty know there is someone around. I don't think she knew that cats can be good watch dogs too.

I just LOVE doing this! A lot of humans wouldn't be happy but Colin doesn't seem to mind. It looks like I'm trying to destroy the tyre but I'm really not. Betty says I'd get away with murder. What on earth is she on about?

Auntie Rachel wanted to take a photo of me so I posed next to the Dreamie tub.
She understood and gave me some.
Humans are quick learners, aren't they?

I love my scratchy bed!
There's nothing better than a hard, rough bed to curl up on. I wonder if they make them for humans? It's very comfortable!

At first I thought that Betty was relaxing in the veranda but then I realised it was a scarecrow!
I don't know why it's in the veranda, maybe she thought it was funny, who knows.
I don't care what the reason was, I'm going to sit on its lap and have a little sleep.

It's 4 years since little Gloria Glover went to🌈.

She had been living in a garden and was really wild. Nobody could touch her.

Cats Protection managed to get her and she came to live at the allotments.

Ken looked after her and she became very friendly.

She is together with Ken now at 🌈

I've been keeping Uncle Mick company again.

He's like Betty and Colin because he has never had a cat of his own at home, he's always had dogs.

I know that some dogs are good with cats, but I'm scared of them.

After what happened to sweet Robert I don't think you can blame me, can you?

We don't have television here at the allotments and I'm happy about that.

I know bad things happenbut I'll leave it to the humans to worry about them.

I'm here to let them make a fuss of me and take their minds off the bad things.
